INSTRUCTIONS: ARIZONA TAX TABLES X AND Y FOR FORM 140
Arizona residents who make less than $50,000 a year use the optional tax tables to determine their tax liability. Residents who make $50,000 a year or more use tax tables X and Y in order to complete form 140. These tax tables can be obtained from the website maintained by the Arizona Department of Revenue. Note that those using tax tables X and Y are not allowed to file their taxes using form 140EZ or form 140A, but are required to file a regular form 140.
Arizona Tax Tables X And Y For Form 140 Step 1: Table X should be used by those filing as single or married but filing separately. Scan column a to see which set of numbers your income falls between and enter the corresponding amount from line 18 of form 140 in column b.
Arizona Tax Tables X And Y For Form 140 Step 2: Multiply the number in column b by the percentage in column c. Enter the resulting product in column d.
Arizona Tax Tables X And Y For Form 140 Step 3: Subtract the number in column e from column d. Enter the resulting difference in column f. This figure is your tax liability.

Arizona Tax Tables X And Y For Form 140 Step 6: Use Table Y if married and filing jointly or if filing as head of household. Scan column a and determine which set of numbers your income falls between. Enter the corresponding figure from line 18 of form 140 in column b.
