Section 25-4-73

Individual weekly benefit payment.

(a) Each eligible individual who is totally unemployed or partially unemployed in any week beginning on or after July 3, 1983, shall be paid with respect to such week a benefit in an amount equal to his or her weekly benefit amount, less that part of the wages, if any, payable to him or her with respect to such week which is in excess of $15.00. Such benefit, if not a multiple of $1.00, shall be computed to the nearest multiple of $1.00.

(b) With respect to weeks beginning prior to January 1, 1989, each eligible individual shall be paid with respect to such week as was provided in this section prior to such date.

(c) With respect to benefit years effective on or after July 6, 2008, an individual shall serve a one-week waiting period with no benefits payable after the 13th compensable week of paid benefits within a benefit year and prior to the 14th compensable week of benefits. The waiting week shall not be counted as a week of unemployment for the purposes of this section.
