23-525. Placement of labor by municipal clerks

A. The clerk of every city and town in which there is no public employment office or employment agency licensed under the provisions of this article may solicit, receive and record applications of persons seeking employment for any period of time, and of persons desiring to employ labor. An employer shall pay to the clerk twenty-five cents for each time the clerk assists in furnishing labor.

B. The clerk of every city and town serving under the terms of this article shall, on or before the first day of each month, report all placements made by him to the commission to be compiled as part of the general employment statistics of the state.
