SECTION 25997-25998.2




25997.  Glazing materials subject to human impact in residential,
commercial, and public buildings shall, to the extent not preempted
by federal law, comply with the provisions of Section 5406 of the
1982 edition of the Uniform Building Code. Those glazing materials
shall be subject to the requirements specified in Standard No. 54-2
of the 1982 edition of the Uniform Building Code Standards, or
subject to comparative requirements which are determined by the local
building official, responsible for enforcement of such standards, to
produce at least equivalent performance.



25997.3.  Each light of safety glazing material installed in
hazardous locations, as specified by subdivision (d) of Section 5406
of the 1982 edition of the Uniform Building Code, shall be identified
by a label, as specified by subdivision (b) of Section 5406 of that
code.



25997.4.  It shall be unlawful within the state to knowingly
install, consent, or cause to be installed, glazing materials in any
hazardous location other than as permitted by this chapter.



25997.6.  No liability under this chapter shall be created as to
workmen who are employees of a contractor, subcontractor, or other
employer responsible for compliance with this chapter.



25997.8.  Any person who knowingly violates any provision of this
chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not
more than five hundred dollars ($500) or by imprisonment for not more
than six months, or both.


25998.  The provisions of this chapter shall apply in all parts of
the state.


25998.2.  The provisions of this chapter shall be administered and
enforced pursuant to Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 17960) of
Part 1.5 of Division 13.
