      Sec. 9-438. Hours and places of voting. In each municipality or voting district, 
the polling places for primaries held under sections 9-382 to 9-450, inclusive, shall be 
the same as those used for the election to be held. When unaffiliated electors are authorized under section 9-431 to vote in the primary of either of two parties, both parties shall 
hold their primaries in the same room of each such polling place. On the day of the 
primary, the polls shall remain open for voting from six o'clock a.m. until eight 
o'clock p.m.

      History: 1963 acts restated previous provisions and changed opening of polls from 2 p.m. to noon; P.A. 83-370 prohibited 
the hours of voting in any municipality or part of a municipality in a district that includes two or more municipalities or 
parts of municipalities from commencing prior to twelve o'clock noon, unless all municipalities or parts of municipalities 
within the district establish the same hours of voting; P.A. 83-475 amended section to require uniform voting hours for 
primaries; P.A. 87-509 required, when unaffiliated electors authorized to vote in primary of either of two parties, both 
parties to hold primaries in same room of each polling place; P.A. 88-162 required polls to open for voting in all primaries 
at six o'clock a.m., instead of at twelve o'clock noon, effective July 1, 1989.
