Sec. 9-453s. Vacancies in candidacies. Ballot label. Vacancies in candidacies
occurring after all nominating petitions have been approved under section 9-453o, shall
not cause the position of any candidate's name on the ballot label to be changed to another
position unless a blank row on the machine results from such vacancy or vacancies in
which case the position of candidates appearing on lines under the blank row may change
if the consent of all candidates involved in such a change is filed in the Secretary of the
State's office prior to the time for printing and filing sample ballot labels with said
secretary. The name of any candidate whose candidacy has been vacated shall not appear
on the ballot label. The voting machine pointer over each position where no candidate's
name appears shall be locked so that no vote can be cast in that position.
