456A.20 - LIMITATION ON NURSERY STOCK -- EXCEPTION.

        456A.20  LIMITATION ON NURSERY STOCK -- EXCEPTION.         1.  Moneys appropriated to the department which are used in      growing or handling nursery stock shall be used for growing or      handling of the nursery stock for distribution only on state-owned      lands.  However, the department may do any of the following:         a.  Produce and sell game cover packets and trees for erosion      control at private sale.         b.  Produce trees for a demonstration windbreak in each      township in the state.         c.  Dispose of growing trees under a departmental plan of      distribution.         2.  The department shall deposit a portion of the moneys that it      receives from selling trees and shrubs as provided in this section to      the forestry management and enhancement fund as created in section      456A.21.  The amount deposited in the fund shall equal five cents for      each coniferous tree and ten cents for each hardwood tree and shrub      sold.
