461A.26 SPECIAL POLICE. The commission in carrying out its duties may appoint the director and such other supervisory personnel of the department as necessary to act as special police to carry out the law enforcement program of the department. The officers are vested with the powers and charged with the duties of peace officers while in the performance of their official duties.
