        502.508  CRIMINAL PENALTIES.         1.  Criminal penalties.         a.  Except as provided in paragraph "b", a person who      willfully violates any provision of this chapter, or any rule adopted      or order issued under this chapter, is guilty of a class "D" felony.         b.  A person who willfully violates section 502.501 or section      502.502, subsection 1, resulting in a loss of more than ten thousand      dollars is guilty of a class "C" felony.         2.  Criminal reference not required.  The attorney general or      the proper county attorney, with or without a reference from the      administrator, may institute criminal proceedings under this chapter.         3.  No limitation on other criminal enforcement.  This chapter      does not limit the power of this state to punish a person for conduct      that constitutes a crime under other laws of this state.
