222.50 COUNTY OF LEGAL SETTLEMENT TO PAY. When the proceedings are instituted in a county in which the person who is alleged to have mental retardation was found but which is not the county of legal settlement of the person, and the costs are not taxed to the petitioner, the county which is the legal settlement of the person shall, on presentation of a properly itemized bill for such costs, repay the costs to the former county. When the person's legal settlement is outside the state or is unknown, the costs shall be paid out of money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, itemized on vouchers executed by the auditor of the county which paid the costs, and approved by the administrator.Section History: Early Form
