Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 2.--DRAINAGE WITHIN TOWNSHIP

      24-216.   Widening or deepening ditch, drain or watercourse establishedunder 24-201 to 24-215.The township trustee of any township in this state shall have power,whenever in his opinion the same is demanded by or will be conducive to thepublic health, convenience, or welfare, to cause to be enlarged either bywidening or deepening the same, or by both widening and deepening the same,any ditch, drain, or watercourse, within such township which has beenpreviously established, located and constructed in accordance with theterms of this article, upon a petition therefor being filed and presentedto him as provided in section 2 of this article, and subject to each andall of the provisions of said sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,13, 14 and 15 of this article, and to each and all the terms, conditionsand provisions thereof, in the same way and in the same manner, and uponthe same terms and conditions, the cost thereof to be met, assessed andpaid in the same manner, as the original ditch, drain or watercourse withinsuch township was established, located, and constructed as provided in andby this article.
