Article 6.--DRAINAGE IN ONE OR MORE COUNTIES

      24-635.   Overseers; appointment; powers and duties.For the purpose of preservingany ditch, drain, dike or other worksconstructed or erected under the provisions of this act the board ofsupervisors shall have the power to appoint not more than threeoverseers of their respective districts, who shall hold their officesfor a term of one year; whose duty it shall be to keep the ditches,drains, dikes and other works erected or constructed for the reclamationof the lands in the drainage district in good repair, and remove allobstructions from all ditches, drains or watercourses within theirrespective districts. It shall also be the duty of said overseers tocause the arrest of all persons who shall be known to have filled up, orput any timber or brush into, or to have in any way obstructed anyditch, drain or watercourse, or have damaged any dike or other workerected or constructed for the reclamation of lands as aforesaid, withintheir respective districts, and bring them before a court having jurisdiction for trial and punishment.
