Article 7.--DRAINAGE ON PETITION TO COURT

      24-710.   Fees; compensation of clerk and commissioners.The clerk of the district court shall tax as costs and receive as feesthe same compensation for services rendered by him under the provisions ofthis act as are allowed by the statutes of Kansas to clerks for likeofficial services performed in civil actions, and none other; and the clerkof the district court shall be liable on his official bond for all moneyswhich may come into his hands under the provisions of this act. Thedrainage commissioners shall receive for such services as may be performedby them under the provisions of this act such sum per day, not exceeding inany case six dollars per day, as may be fixed and allowed by the court insaid proceedings, and the allowance per day as fixed by the court shall betheir entire compensation, including their expenses.

      Upon the approval by the court of any report of the commissioners madeby them, as provided in this act, the court shall make an order allowingthe commissioners compensation for all the time spent by such commissionersin the performance of their duties as commissioners of drainage, as shownby such report, and allowed by the court at the rate per day fixed by thecourt, and the clerk of the court shall pay to such commissioners the sumso allowed by the order of the court from any moneys in his hands derivedfrom the payment of assessments for benefits.
