      25-2102.   Definitions; primary and general elections.(a) "General election" means the election held on the Tuesday succeedingthe first Monday in November of even-numbered years, the elections held forofficers on the first Tuesday in April, and in the case of specialelections of any officers to fill vacancies, the election at which any suchofficer is finally elected.

      (b)   "Primary election" means the election held on the first Tuesday inAugust of even-numbered years, the election held five weeks precedingthe election on the first Tuesday in April, and any other preliminaryelection at which part of the candidates for special election to anynational, state, county, city or school office are eliminated by theprocess of the election but at which no officer is finally elected.
