Article 28.--ELECTION BOARDS

      25-2811.   Judges and clerks, compensation.Judges and clerks of election shall receive the following fees and no more:

      (a)   Each judge and clerk of election where voting machines are not in useshall receive as compensation an amount to be fixed by resolution of the boardof county commissioners which shall not be less than $3 per hour for each hourof work as a judge or clerk of an election.

      (b)   Judges and clerks of election where voting machines are used shallreceive for their services an amount to be fixed by resolution of the boardof county commissioners which shall not be less than the sum of $40 per day.

      (c)   In addition to other compensation authorized under subsections (a)and (b), the supervising judge shall receive the sum of not less than $2 andthe mileage allowance established pursuant to K.S.A. 75-3203a, and amendmentsthereto, for each mile necessarily traveled in the course of such service.

      (d)   Any judge or clerk of an election may, upon written consent, declineto accept compensation for work as a judge or clerk of an election.
