Article 43.--RECALL OF ELECTED OFFICIALS

      25-4309.   Same; petition; form; certain acts crimes.(a) If the secretary of state certifies the application, he or she shallprescribe the form of, and prepare, a petition containing (1) the name andoffice of the person to be recalled, (2) the statement of thegrounds for recall included in the application, (3) the statement of warningrequired in subsection (b), (4) sufficient space for signatures and addresses,and (5) other specifications prescribed by the secretary of state to assureproper handling and control. Petitions, for purposes of circulation, shallbe prepared by the secretary of state in a number reasonably calculatedto allow full circulation throughout the state or throughout the electiondistrict of the state officer sought to be recalled. The secretary of stateshall number each petition and shall keep a record of the petitions deliveredto each sponsor.

      (b)   Any person who signs a name other than that person's own name to apetition for recall of a state officer, or who knowingly signs more thanonce for the same proposition at one election, or who signs the petitionknowing he or she is not a registered elector is guilty of a class B misdemeanor. Each page of the petition shall include a statement of warning of this crime.
