31-609. Same; cigarette fire safety standard andfire fighter protection act fund; administration; use of moneys infund.(a) There is hereby established in the state treasury a separate, nonlapsingfund to beknown as the cigarette fire safety standard and firefighter protection act fundwhich shall be administered by the state fire marshal. The fund shall consistof all moneys recovered as penaltiesunderK.S.A. 2009 Supp.31-606, and amendments thereto. The moneys shall bedeposited to thecredit of the fundand in addition to any other money made available for such purpose, shall bemade available to thestate entity responsible for administering the provisions of this act tosupport fire safety andprevention programs.
(b) The provisions of this section shall take effect and be in force from andafter July 1, 2009.
