Chapter 32.--WILDLIFE, PARKS AND RECREATION
Article 11.--BOATING AND WATER ACTIVITIES

      32-1113.   Exemptions.A vessel shall not be required to be numbered under this act if it is:

      (1)   Already covered by a number in full force and effect which has beenawarded to it pursuant to federal law or a federally approved numberingsystem of another state, if such boat has not beenwithin this state for a period in excess of 60 consecutive days.

      (2)   A vessel from a country other than the United States temporarilyusing the waters of this state.

      (3)   A vessel whose owner is the United States, a state or a subdivisionthereof.

      (4)   A ship's lifeboat.

      (5)   A vessel belonging to a class of boats which has been exempted fromnumbering by the secretary ifit is determined that the numberingof vessels of such class will not materially aid in their identification;and, if an agency of the federal government has a numbering systemapplicable to the class of vessels to which the vessel in question belongs,after the secretary has further found that the vesselwould also be exemptfrom numbering if it were subject to the federal law.

      (6)   Vessel documented by the United States coast guard or federal agencysuccessor thereto.
