Chapter 38.--MINORS
Article 6.--CHILD LABOR

      38-618.   Same; contracts affected.This section applies to the following contracts entered intoon or after January 1, 2001,between a minor child and any third-party or parties:

      (a)   A contract pursuant to which a person is employed or agrees to renderartistic or creative services, either directly or through a third party,including, but not limited to, a personal services corporation.

      (b)   A contract pursuant to which a person agrees to: (1) Purchase orotherwisesecure, sell, lease, license or otherwise dispose of literary, musical ordramatic properties, or use of a person's likeness, voice recording,performance or story of or incidents in such person's life, either tangible orintangible or any rights therein to use in motion pictures, television, theproduction of sound recordings in any format now known or hereafter devised,the legitimate or living stage, or otherwise in the entertainment field.

      (c)   A contract pursuant to which a person is employed or agrees to renderservices as a participant or player in a sport.

      (d)   Where a minor child renders services as an extra, background performer orin asimilar capacity, through a casting agency, the casting agency or service shallbe considered the minor child's employer for the purposes of this act.
