Chapter 47.--LIVESTOCK AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Article 4.--MARKS AND BRANDS

      47-416.   Livestock commissioner, duties; brand recording;assistant commissioner, inspectors, investigators, examiners and employees.It shall be the duty of the livestock commissioner to keep all books andrecords and to record all brands used for the branding or marking oflivestock in Kansas. The commissioner shall receive applications for therecording of any and all brands and the commissioner shall decide onthe availability anddesirability of any brand or brands sent in for recording.

      The commissioner may appoint an assistant commissioner in charge ofbrands and brand inspectors, special investigators, examiners, deputyassistants and employeesnecessary to carry out the provisions of the acts contained in article 4 ofchapter 47 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and any acts amendatorythereof, subject to approval of the board.
