Article 4.--MARKS AND BRANDS

      47-416a.   Livestock special investigators; law enforcement powers; trainingrequirements.Each special investigator, appointed by the livestockcommissioner, pursuant to K.S.A. 47-416 and amendments theretoshall have the authority to make arrests, conductsearches and seizures and carry firearmswhile investigating violations of the provisions ofarticle 4 of chapter 47 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated and actsamendatory of the provisions thereof and supplemental thereto and whileinvestigating livestock theft.The director as definedin K.S.A. 74-5602 and amendments thereto is authorized to offer andcarry out a special course of instruction for special investigators performinglaw enforcement duties under authority of this section. Such specialinvestigators shall not carry firearms without having first successfullycompleted such special law enforcement training course.
