      47-421.   Unlawful branding or defacing of brands; penalty; venue ofprosecutions.Any person who shall willfully and knowinglybrand or cause to be branded with such person's brand, or anybrand not the recordedbrand of the owner, any livestock being the property of another, or whoshall willfully or knowingly efface, deface or obliterate any brand uponany livestock, shall be deemed guilty of felony, and upon convictionthereof shall be punished by confinement in the custodyof the secretary of corrections for a periodnot exceeding five years. Prosecution for violation of the provisions ofthis section may be had either in the county where such violation occurredor in any county in which the livestock may be located or found in thepossession of the accused.
