Chapter 47.--LIVESTOCK AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Article 4.--MARKS AND BRANDS

      47-436.   Same; duties of commissioner, brandinspectors and special investigators; rules andregulations.The commissioner and the brand inspectors under the control andsupervision of the commissioner shall provide brand inspection in allbrand inspection areas of the state, within the limits of funds providedfor such purpose, and shall perform such other duties as may be required toadminister the provisions of the acts contained in articles 2 and 4 ofchapter 47 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated and acts amendatory of theprovisions thereof and supplemental thereto. The commissioner or theauthorized agent shall perform such acts as may be necessary to aid inestablishing ownership of livestock and shall cooperate with agencies andresidents of other states when ownership of livestock cannot be establishedwithin this state. The commissioner shall provide for the issuance ofofficial inspection certificates to owners, possessors, shippers or sellersof livestock in such a manner as to provide for the most efficientadministration and enforcement of the livestock laws of Kansas.

      The commissioner is authorizedto adopt and enforce such rules and regulations governing brand inspectionsas the commissioner shall deem necessary for the proper enforcement of thelivestock laws of Kansas. The commissioner, brand inspectors and specialinvestigators shall aid in investigations and prosecutions of violations ofthe livestock laws of Kansas and other laws of this state and of the rulesand regulations of the commissioner.
