      47-613.   Quarantine duties of sheriff.The sheriff to whom the existence of any contagious or infectiousdisease of domestic animals is reported shall proceedwithout delay to the place where such domestic animal or animals areand examine the same, and shall report immediatelythe result of such examination to the livestockcommissioner. The sheriff shall enforce such temporaryquarantine regulations as the livestock commissioner maydirect to prevent the spread of such disease, until the livestockcommissioner provides and orders suitable permanent quarantinerules and regulations. No sheriff who takes or detains such animals underthe provisions ofthis act shall be liable to the owner or owners of such animals forany damages by reason of such taking or detention or by reason of theperformance of any other duties directed by law.
