Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 33.--KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL AIR PATROL

      48-3302.   Functions and powers; payment for services,disposition of moneys.(a) The Kansas department of civil air patrol is herebyauthorized to cooperate with any agency,authority, department or political subdivision of the state of Kansas, uponrequestthereby, in the provision of cadet training, communications,disaster relief, and search and rescue missions or assistance, or in theperformance ofother related functions which are within the scope of activity of thefederally chartered civil air patrol.

      (b)   The head of the department may enter into agreements with anyagency, authority, department or political subdivision of the state for theperformance, in cooperation therewith, of any of the functions specified insubsection (a) andmay accept from any suchagency, authority, department or political subdivision payments ofmoneys to defray all or a part of the expensesincurred by the department in connection with the performance of suchfunctions. Every agency, authority, department and political subdivisionof the state is hereby authorized to enter into agreements with thedepartment for the performance of such functions and tomake payments of moneys pursuant to such agreements.

      (c)   The head of the department shall remit all moneys received by or forthe department under this section to the state treasurer in accordance withthe provisions of K.S.A. 75-4215, andamendments thereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance, the state treasurer shall deposit theentire amount in the state treasuryto the credit of the Kansas department of civil air patrol grants andcontributions fund,which fund is hereby created.
