Article 7.--FAIR CREDIT REPORTING

      50-706.   Compliance procedures.(a) Every consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable proceduresdesigned to avoid violations of K.S.A. 50-704 and tolimit the furnishing of consumer reports to the purposes listed underK.S.A. 50-703. These procedures shall require thatprospective users of the information identify themselves, certify thepurposes for which the information is sought, and certify that theinformation will be used for no other purpose. Every consumer reportingagency shall make a reasonable effort to verify the identity of a newprospective user and the uses certified by such prospective user prior tofurnishing such user a consumer report. No consumer reporting agency mayfurnish a consumer report to any person if it has reasonable grounds forbelieving that the consumer report will not be used for a purpose listed inK.S.A. 50-703.

      (b)   Whenever a consumer reporting agency prepares a consumer report itshall follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy ofthe information concerning the individual about whom the report relates.
