      58-4006.   Undocumented property; acquisition of title.(a) A museum may acquire title to undocumented property heldby a museum for seven years or longer with no valid claim or writtencontact by any person, all verifiable through the museum's written records,by giving notice of acquisition of title to undocumented property.

      (b)   If a lender or claimant does not respond to the noticeprovided in subsection (a) within one year by filing a notice of intent toretain an interest in property on loan, the museum's title to the propertybecomes uncontestable under K.S.A. 58-4008.

      (c)   A notice of acquisition of title must include a statement containingsubstantially the following information:

      "The records of (name of museum) fail to indicate the owner of record ofcertain property in its possession. The museum intends to acquire title tothe following property: (general description of the property). If youclaim ownership or other legal interest in this property you must contactthe institution, establish your ownership of the property pursuant toK.S.A. 58-4007 and make arrangements to collect the property. If youfail to doso promptly, you will be considered to have waived any claim you may havehad to the property."
