Article 18.--EXAMINATION, REGISTRATION AND REGULATION OF BARBERS

      65-1815.   Examinations for licensure; times, places, content andrequired grade; reexamination; applications; seminar permits.The board shall conduct examinations for applicants for licensure topractice barbering at such times and places as the boardshall determine; but examinationsshall be given not less than twice in eachyear. Such examination shall include both a practical demonstration anda written test of the applicant's knowledge of hygiene and thefundamentals of the vocation. A licenseto practice shall be issued eachapplicant who shall satisfactorily pass both the practicaldemonstration andthe written test with agrade of not less than 80%, and shall possess the otherqualifications required by law. The board shall allow an applicant who failsone part of the examination to be reexamined only on that part whichwas failed. Each application topractice shall contain, in addition to any other information required bythe board or by law, the name, address, social security number, height,weight and age of theapplicant to whom issued. The board may issue seminar permits to barbers and teachers holdingvalid licenses from Kansas or any other state or country, to teach anddemonstrate the art of advanced barbering. Such seminar permit shallbe restricted to prescribed dates and places, but in no instance shallit be valid for more than five days. No such seminar permit shallbe required of any barber or teacher demonstrating the art of advancedbarbering at no cost to those viewing such demonstration.
