Article 61.--EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

      65-6101.   Bureau of emergency medical services, position of directorand emergency medical services council abolished; powers, duties andfunctions transferred.(a) The bureau of emergency medical services established pursuant to K.S.A.74-2127, and amendments thereto, is hereby abolished and all of the powers,duties and functions of such bureau are transferred to and conferred andimposed upon the emergency medical services board established pursuant toK.S.A. 65-6102. Except as provided by this act, all powers,duties and functions of the university of Kansas relating to emergencymedical services are transferred to and conferred and imposed upon theemergency medical services board established pursuant to K.S.A.65-6102.

      (b)   The position of the director of the bureau of emergency medical servicesappointed pursuant to K.S.A. 74-2127, and amendments thereto, is herebyabolished and all of the powers, duties and functions of the directorof emergency medical services are transferred to and conferred andimposed upon the emergency medical services board or the administratorthereof as provided by this act. The director shall continue to carry outthe duties of that position until an administrator is appointed andqualified pursuant to this act.

      (c)   The emergency medical services council established under K.S.A.65-4316, and amendments thereto, is hereby abolished and all of the powers,duties and functions of the council are transferred to and conferred andimposed upon the emergency medical services board.
