Article 6a.--MEAT AND POULTRY

      65-6a22.   Inspection of carcasses prior to entry into department forprocessing; inspection of meat and poultry food products returned toslaughtering or processing establishment; limitation of entry of carcassesand products.The provisions of K.S.A. 65-6a21 and amendments theretoshall apply to all carcasses or parts ofcarcasses of livestock,domestic rabbits and poultry, or the meat or meat products or poultry orpoultry products thereof, which are capable of use as humanfood and which may bebrought into any slaughtering, canning, salting, packing or similarestablishment where inspection under this act is maintained. Theexamination and inspection shall be conducted before such carcasses or partsthereof shall be allowed to enter into any department wherein the same areto be treated and prepared for meat food products or poultry foodproducts. The provisions of K.S.A. 65-6a21 and amendments theretoshall also applyto all such products which, afterhaving been issued from any such slaughtering, canning, salting, packing orsimilar establishment, are returned to the same or to any similarestablishment where such inspection is maintained. The secretary may limitthe entry of carcasses, parts of carcasses, meat and meat products, poultryand poultry products and other materials into any establishment at whichinspection under this act is maintained under such conditions as the secretary mayprescribe to assure that allowing the entry of such articles into suchinspected establishments will be consistent with the purposes of this act.
