Article 21.--DUTIES AND LIABILITIES DURING REPAIR OR IMPROVEMENTS

      68-2106.   Unlawful to destroy or remove barricades, warning signs,or drive on closed hard-surfaced highway; penalty; damages.Any person who shall, without authority, destroy or remove anybarricade, warning sign or warning light when used in accordance withthe provisions of this act, or who shall drive on a hard-surfacedhighway under improvement without authority from the proper officials,when said road is barricaded and suitable warning signs have been placedto advise that such road is closed to traffic, shall be deemed guilty ofa misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to the finesand penalties prescribed by K.S.A. 68-2107, and, in addition, saidperson shall be required to reimburse the contractor, municipality orsecretary of transportation for any damage to the improvements or to thebarricades, warning signs or lights; but nothing in this act shall beconstrued as prohibiting or restricting the authorities of themunicipality, secretary of transportation, or federal government fromhaving free access to the improvement at all times.
