Chapter 71.--SCHOOLS--COMMUNITY COLLEGES
Article 11.--NEW COMMUNITY COLLEGES

      71-1105.   Order establishing new college;contents.The order of the state board establishing any communitycollege shall contain the following:

      (a)   A description of the territory of thecommunitycollege district.

      (b)   A statement of the legal name of thecommunitycollege.

      (c)   The effective date of the establishment of thecommunitycollege for the purpose of taxation.

      (d)   The date that courses may first be offered by thecommunitycollege.

      (e)   The date of the first election of members of theboard oftrustees, and a date two weeks prior thereto upon which the primaryelection, if needed, shall be held.

      (f)   A designation of the voting plan and method ofelection which shallinitially apply in such community college district, and thevoting plan and method of election shall be selected from thosespecified in chapter 71 of Kansas Statutes Annotated. If amember district method is selected the boundary of each member districtshall be set forth.

      (g)   A specification of the election officer orofficers who shall be locallyresponsible for conduct of the first election of trustees, and if morethan one election officer is involved, the order shall also provide forcertification of the results in each county to the stateboard for canvass of the vote and announcement andcertificationof the final result thereof, both in the primary and general elections.

      (h)   The date and place of the first meeting of the boardoftrustees.
