Article 7.--DEFINITIONS OF GENERAL APPLICATION

      71-701.   Definitions.As used in this act:

      (a)   "Community college" means a public community college established underthe provisions of this act. The official name of a community college shall be"the ______ community college" and the blank shall be filled with the name ofthe city or county.

      (b)   "State board" means the state board of regents.

      (c)   "Community college district" means the taxing district of a communitycollege.

      (d)   "Board of trustees" means the governing body of a community college.

      (e)   "State plan" means the plan adopted for communitycolleges as provided by law, and such plan as it is from time to time amendedby the state board upon recommendation of the advisory council; such plan mayinclude other matters listed in the community college act and acts amendatorythereof, or supplemental thereto.

      (f)   "Campus" means the location of all or part of thebuildings and facilities of a community college.

      (g)   "Advisory council" means the advisory council providedfor by K.S.A. 71-901, and amendments thereto.

      (h)   "Student tuition" means the charge made to and paid bystudents for the privilege of attending a community college andparticipating in the institutional program.

      (i)   "Chief administrative officer" means the president or oneso appointed by the board of trustees.
