Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS
Article 11.--SCHOOL ATTENDANCE, CURRICULUM AND ACCREDITATION

      72-1106b.   School term; exceptions not to affect employee contracts;immunity from liability for boards of education.Exceptions to the duration of the school termprovided for under authority of K.S.A. 72-1106, shall not be construed orapplied in any manner so as to affect or impair the obligations oflawful contracts of employees for the school year with the board ofeducation of any school district, and the financial provisions of allsuch lawful contracts shall remain the valid and binding financialobligations of the school district. If the duration of any school termis altered or modified by any exception thereto providedfor in K.S.A. 72-1106, the amount of compensation specified in any suchemployee's contract with the board of education shall not be reduced,modified or affected thereby. No liability, civil or criminal, withrespect to the misuse of public funds, shall attach to any board ofeducation, or any member thereof, for complying with the provisions ofthis section.
