Article 21.--SCHOOL LANDS

      72-2148.   Sale of certain school lands by secretary of stateauthorized; procedure.Any tract of school lands, not exceeding three acres in extent, whichhas been used for school purposes, the title to which has remained in, orhas reverted to the state of Kansas, may be sold by the secretary of statewithout survey or appraisement. The secretary of state shall negotiatesales of such lands and submit the same to the governor forthe governor's approval.Upon the approval of any such sale, the secretary of state shall deliver agood and sufficient grant or patent conveying to the purchaser orpurchasers all of the title of the state of Kansas in and to the tract sosold. The proceeds arising from such sales shall beremitted to the state treasurer in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A.75-4215, and amendments thereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance, thestate treasurer shall deposit the entire amount in the statetreasury to the credit of the state schoolequalization fund. This actshall not be construed as repealing or limiting any existing acts relatingto the sale of school lands, but shall be construed as providing anadditional method for the sale of tracts not exceeding three acres.
