Article 45.--ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS

      72-4518.   Acceptance of benefits of federal law; administration andsupervision by state board; state plan; agreements with federal agenciesauthorized.(a) The state of Kansas does hereby accept the provisions and benefitsof federal law relating to adult basic education programs. The state boardis hereby designated as the agency for administration of adult basiceducation programs and for supervision of the administration of adult basiceducation programs by boards. The state board is authorized to prepare,from time to time amend, and administer the state plan in accordance withstate and federal law.

      (b)   The state board shall enter into agreements with the United Statesoffice of education andother agencies of thefederal government for the purpose of participation in adult basiceducation programs provided for by federal law. Any such agreement maycontain provisions required or authorized by federal law, so long as thesame are not in conflict with the provisions of this act.
