Article 45.--ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS

      72-4526.   Teacher qualifications; certificate ofaccomplishment;regulations; participation by nonresidents; authority of teachers andadministrators.(a) Boards shall employ teachers who have known competence in thesubjects taught. School teacher licensurerequirements shall be appliedto adult education teachers only in cases where general education subjectsare taught in adult basic education programs for grade school or highschool credit.

      (b)   The board shall issue a certificate of accomplishment to everystudent completing an adult basic education course, which certifies thesubjects studied and the accomplishments made therein. Such certificatesshall be issued in accordance with the state plan.

      (c)   Any board may adopt regulations governing the operation of adulteducation programs. Any board may authorize persons not residents of thedistrict to participate in adult education programs. The teachers andadministrators in such adult education programs shall have the sameauthority over students as is exercised in regular school instruction.
