      72-4530.   General educational developmentcredentials; verification of credentials; fees, amount anddisposition; fees fund, establishment, expenditures.(a) The state board of regents may adopt rules andregulations relatingto the processing and issuance of general educational development (GED)credentials.

      (b)   Each application to the state board of regentsfor issuance orduplicationof general educational development credentials or verification ofcredentials shall be accompanied by afee which shall be established by the state board ofregents and shallbe in an amount of not more than $15. Onor before June 1 of each year,the state board of regentsshall determine the amountof revenue which will be required to properly administer the provisionsof this section during the next ensuing fiscal year, and shall establishthe GED credentials processing fee for such year in the amount deemed necessaryfor such purposes. Such fee shall become effective on the succeedingJuly 1 of each year. The state board of regents shall remitall moneys receivedby or for it from GED credentials processing fees to the state treasurerin accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 75-4215,and amendments thereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance, the statetreasurershall deposit the entire amountin the state treasury tothe credit of the GEDcredentials processing fees fund, which fund is hereby established in thestate treasury, and shall be used only for the payment of expenses connectedwith the processing, issuance or duplication of GED credentials, and forthe keeping of records by the state board ofregents. All expendituresfrom the GED credentials processing fees fund shall be made in accordancewith appropriation acts upon warrants of the director of accountsand reports issued pursuant to vouchers approved by the state board ofregentsor by a person or persons designated by the state board.
