72-5533. Employees in school service one-half time; and employedby a nonschool agency of the state one-half time.If a school employee as provided in K.S.A. 72-5515, iseligible to receive only one-half of service credit in a school year anddeductions are applicable only to the first two thousand five hundreddollars ($2,500) of the gross salary paid during a school year forschool service, is also employed at least one-half time by an agency ofthe state of Kansas in nonschool service such school employee mayrequest in writing to the school employer on such forms as may berequired by the retirement board, that the four percent (4%) deductionbe applicable to the first five thousand dollars ($5,000) of thecombined gross salaries. Such deduction shall be made by the schoolemployer entirely from the salary for school service and remitted andcredited the same as other such deductions. Upon receipt of such writtenrequest and deductions the retirement board shall grant full servicecredit as provided in K.S.A. 72-5501. In the event suchnonschool service does not extend over the full school year theretirement board shall have sole discretion to determine if full servicecredit shall be granted.
