Article 81.--UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PROVISIONS OF LIMITED APPLICATION

      72-8173.   U.S.D. 380 authorized to transfer certain land to city of Corning.(a) The board of education of unified school district No.380, Marshall county, is hereby authorized to transfer to the city of Corning,Kansas, the following described parcels of land: (1) A parcel of land described asblock 56 in the city of Corning, Nemaha county, Kansas,together with the school building and shop located thereon; and (2) a parcelof land twelve (12) feet square located in the southwest (SW) corner oflot seventeen (17), block 54, in the city of Corning, Nemaha county, Kansas;and (3) a parcel of land described as lots three, four, five, six, seven,eight, nine and ten, and the east twelve feet (12') of lots eleven, twelve,thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen andtwenty of block 59 in the city of Corning, Nemaha county, Kansas, beingall of said block 59, except for lots one and two of said block 59 and exceptfor the west (W) one hundred thirty-eight feet (138') of said block 59.

      (b)   The transfer of land and buildings described in subsection (a) maybe made by the board of education of unified school district No. 380, Marshallcounty, to the city of Corning, Kansas, in consideration of $1 and no otherconsideration, and upon such terms and conditions as may be mutually agreedupon by both parties. The transfer authorized by this act shall be madeby warranty deed if in the opinion of the attorney of the board of educationsuch a deed is appropriate, and if in the opinion of the attorney a warrantydeed is not appropriate, such transfer shall be made by quitclaim deed. The provisions of K.S.A. 72-8212, and amendments thereof, shall not applyto the transaction authorized by this act.
