(1) As used in this section, &quot;local government&quot; means city, county, urban-county, consolidated local government, charter county, unified local government, or special <br>district. (2) For all contracts awarded by a local government, the local government shall apply the reciprocal preference for resident bidders described in KRS 45A.494. The term &quot;unified county&quot; in subsection (1) of this section has been changed in codification to &quot;unified local <br>government&quot; in order to use the correct, statutory term for a united city-county <br>government and maintain consistency with the current text of the Kentucky Revised <br>Statutes. This change was made by the Reviser of Statutes under the authority of KRS <br>7.136(1).
