81A.520 Annexation of impoundments of water by cities of the fifth class. As an alternative to other methods of annexation of territories by cities and in addition to <br>the methods heretofore provided by law any city of the fifth class may annex to the city <br>any portion or all of any impoundment of water, not on a navigable stream, adjoining the <br>city, created by a dam constructed by the annexing city from which that city lawfully <br>obtains all or any part of its water supply including any lands lying within fifty (50) feet <br>of such impounded water by enacting and publishing an ordinance describing accurately <br>the boundary of the territory to be annexed provided however that the area annexed shall <br>not exceed one-fourth (1/4) acre multiplied by the number of inhabitants of the annexing <br>city.
