(1) Upon application made prior to July 1, 1995, and payment of a fee as determined by the board, any person who has been actively engaged and lawfully established as a <br>heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractor in this Commonwealth for not <br>less than three (3) years immediately prior to July 1, 1994, or any person holding a <br>valid heating, ventilation, and air conditioning license or similar license, issued by a <br>city, county, or urban-county government of this Commonwealth prior to July 1, <br>1994, may be issued a master heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractor's <br>license which shall entitle him to practice heating, ventilation, and air conditioning <br>contracting, subject to approval of the board, in any jurisdiction in the <br>Commonwealth. The prescribed fee and proof of eligibility required by the board <br>shall accompany the application. (2) Upon application made prior to July 1, 1995, and payment of a fee as determined by the board, any person who has been actively engaged and lawfully qualified as a <br>journeyman heating, ventilation, and air conditioning mechanic in this <br>Commonwealth under the supervision of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning <br>contractor for not less than three (3) years immediately prior to July 1, 1994, may be <br>issued a journeyman heating, ventilation, and air conditioning mechanic's license, <br>subject to approval of the board. (3) After July 1, 1995, all applicants for a master heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractor's license or a journeyman heating, ventilation, and air <br>conditioning mechanic's license shall be required to comply with KRS 198B.658. (4) Upon application made prior to July 1, 1994, and payment of a fee as determined by the board, any person who has been actively engaged in the practice of heating, <br>ventilation, and air conditioning contracting in the public schools or has been <br>actively engaged in the routine maintenance of heating, ventilation, or air <br>conditioning in the public schools, for not less than eight (8) years immediately <br>prior to July 1, 1994, may be issued a masters heating, ventilation, and air <br>conditioning contractor's license, subject to the approval of the board.
