245.70 MENTAL HEALTH; FEDERAL AID.

Subdivision 1.Mentally ill.

The commissioner of human services is designated the state agency to establish and administer a statewide plan for the care, treatment, diagnosis, or rehabilitation, of the mentally ill which are or may be required as a condition for eligibility for benefits under any federal law and in particular under the Federal Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Block Grant Law, United States Code, title 42, sections 300X to 300X-9. The commissioner of human services is authorized and directed to receive, administer, and expend any funds that may be available under any federal law or from any other source, public or private, for such purposes.

Subd. 2.Mental health block grants.

The commissioner of human services is designated the state authority to establish and administer the state plan for the federal mental health funds available under the alcohol, drug abuse, and mental health services block grant, United States Code, title 42, sections 300X to 300X-9. The commissioner shall receive and administer the available federal mental health funds.
