Powers of committee in preparing editions.

3.060. 1. The committee, in preparing editions of thestatutes and supplements or pocket parts thereto, shall not alterthe sense, meaning, or effect of any legislative act; but mayrenumber sections and parts of sections thereof, change thewording of headnotes, rearrange sections, change referencenumbers or words to agree with renumbered chapters or sections,substitute the word "chapter" for "act" or "article" and thelike, substitute figures for written words and vice versa andchange capitalization for the purpose of uniformity and correctmanifest clerical or typographical errors.

2. It may

(1) Correct therein all words misspelled in enrollment;

(2) Correct all manifest clerical errors, includingpunctuation, but no correction shall constitute an alteration ofor a departure from the enrollment;

(3) Transfer sections or divide or combine sections so as togive to distinct subject matters a section number but withoutchanging the meaning;

(4) Substitute therein the name of any agency, officer orinstrumentality of the state or of a county to which powers,duties and responsibilities have been transferred by law, for thename of any other agency, officer or instrumentality of the stateor of a county previously vested with the same powers and chargedwith the same duties and responsibilities;

(5) Supply any obvious omission or inaccuracy, which shallbe identified in the text. In any such case the committee shalladd a footnote calling attention to such omission or correctionand explaining the reason therefor; and

(6) Substitute therein the abbreviations: "RSMo" for"Missouri Revised Statutes", and "RSMo Supp." for any cumulativesupplement to the Missouri Revised Statutes.
