Governor may designate state agency to investigate and promote state's interests in connection with federal projects in Missouri.

26.130. 1. The governor is authorized to designate suchstate department or other state agency as in his opinion wouldbest serve the interests of the state in relation to the subjectat hand as the official agency of the state of Missouri, tocooperate or negotiate with the chief of engineers or otherauthorities as designated in Public Law 534, 78th Congress (58Statutes at Large c. 665), or any amendments thereto.

2. Such agency or department as may be designated by thegovernor shall have authority to investigate, cooperate andprotect the state's interests subject to the advice and approvalof the governor. Such agency or department shall have power topromote the state's interests, and shall keep the governoradvised of all developments in relation to such act authorizingthe construction of certain public works on rivers and harborsfor flood control and for other purposes as may affect Missouriunder Public Law 534, 78th Congress (58 Statutes at Large c.665), or any amendments thereto. Such agency or department shallmake reports to the governor, general assembly and other stateagencies upon request, stating its findings and recommendationswhen requested by the governor or such other state agencies, andwhenever the general assembly is in session.
