Allowance on service retirement--additional pension to persons havingserved in armed forces.

86.063. Upon retirement from service a member shall receivea service retirement allowance which shall consist of:

(1) An annuity which shall be the actuarial equivalent ofhis accumulated contributions at the time of his retirement; and

(2) A pension in addition to his annuity which shall equalone-one hundred and fortieth of his average final compensationmultiplied by the number of years of his membership service; and

(3) If he has a prior service certificate in full force andeffect an additional pension which shall be equal toone-seventieth of his average final compensation multiplied bythe number of years of service certified to him on his priorservice certificate.

(4) If, at any time since first becoming a member of theretirement system, he has served in the armed forces of theUnited States, in any war or period of armed hostilities betweenthe military or naval forces of the United States and those of aforeign power, he shall be paid an additional pension which shallbe the actuarial equivalent of the contributions that would havebeen paid into the annuity savings fund and credited to hisindividual account therein, together with regular interest, ifhis service in the police department of such city had not beeninterrupted by his induction into the armed forces of the UnitedStates, such contributions to be calculated on the basis of thecompensation payable to the officers of his rank during theperiod of his absence.
