Accumulated contributions to be refunded, when.
87.240. If a member ceases to be a firefighter except by death orretirement, the firefighter shall be paid on demand the amount of his orher accumulated contributions standing to the credit of his or herindividual account in the members' savings fund, and such a member who hasleft his or her contributions with the system may later withdraw his or heraccumulated contributions at any time prior to the beginning of his or herretirement benefits.
