Liability of depositaries.
110.050. No bank or trust company wherein any deposits ofprivate or public moneys shall be made shall become obligated orliable on account thereof except for the safekeeping thereof andfor the payment of the amount thereof with interest thereon, ifany, which said depositary may have contracted to pay. All banksand trust companies and other banking institutions now orhereafter engaged in business in this state shall be and they arehereby authorized with respect to any and all such fundsdeposited with them to provide and maintain the security for suchdeposits as may be by law required.
