Moneys received--record--deposit--audit of director's books.

136.110. The director of revenue shall promptly record all sums ofmoney collected or received by the director and shall immediatelythereafter deposit the same with the state treasurer, excluding all fundsreceived and disbursed* by the state on behalf of counties and cities,towns and villages. The state treasurer, upon receipt of any moneys fromthe director of revenue, shall give his or her receipt therefor, executingthe same in triplicate, and shall deliver one copy of such receipt to thedirector of revenue, one copy to the commissioner of administration, andshall retain the third copy thereof in the files of the state treasurer.The books of the director of revenue shall be audited by the state auditorat such times as may be required by law, and at such other times as may bedirected by the governor.
